Actors Connection in NY...is it a waste of money?

Does anyone have any success stories after attending any seminars, events or classes at the Actors Connection in NY? Is it worth the money to get in front of these casting directors? Do they actually cast people from actors connection or are they just there for the money?

   Have you read through their site? They truly are the largest in NY, but as anyone experienced knows, it takes the individual, making the effort, to achieve any success.

   I see they have an article about Do it Yourself, no agent.

   I can't say that an Acting education is helpful in securing agencies, interviews, auditions, jobs, etc. but any education is a good thing, if one can afford it. That said, and backing up, No education is a concrete guarantee, that one will secure any position they want, but your credibility can certainly be improved.

   I'd suggest, at the very least, check out their seminars, before deciding on what you might pay out for classes. Look for real testimonials, check to see if any agents or agencies are franchised to the orgs. that control the crafts, such as SAG, Equity, Aftra, etc.

   Do I suspect they are in the business of making money? Certainly, but they are as reputable as one might expect, and only you can make choices based on research.
