Actors memorizing lines?

when movie/tv acotrs memorize their lines, do they need to memorize all of their lines right away? or is there time between days of shooting that they can remember different lines?

and when something is being filmed, do they usuall finish one part right away, or do they go back to parts again?

aside from those two questions, can someone explain the process of filming, memorizing lines, and takes and everything?

  1. has more to do with location than chronological storyline.

  2. they usually memorize the lines that they ave for that one scene. they dont need to have them all memorized but they practice many times with the scrpts and they are able to memorize them then. they film scenes randomly. sometimes they film the first scene last or vice versa. sometimes it all depends on location.

  3. nothing's in chronilogical order. depends on days, location, etc etc.

and no they only have to memorize what they're doing in the upcoming scenes. They have a dialogue coach that will sit with them between shoots and help them memorize and personalize.

  4. The process of making a film can be divided (broadly here) into three areas. The technical crew work, which includes stet design, costumes, make up, SFX, etc. The second area has to do with the hired talent; casting, agents, and any special performers. Third, are the above the line players. These are your producers, directors, writers, ect.

A film starts with a script (I've seen a coctail napkins start out as the working basis of a script). If your movie is given the "Green Light" then your  "Script" is then funded and turned into a visual representation of the movie called a story board (Done by specialized visual artists). This is then interpreted into stunts, camera angles, locations, blocking, and more. Then you add in your sound engineers, post production, marketing, and other back-end pro's and before you know it, your movie is screened!

  5. Well i know this from experience because i am an actress and Ive worked with  people and before they shoot a film they take time and practice they don't shoot it right away and you have to practice and memorize your lines and if you freeze in the middle of filming you can like look up with your eyes and they will have your lines right there it also depends on the location and what your auditioning for. as far as cameras you will have to stand really close to your opponent  because if you stand reg you will look to far apart when your on camera and for the filming part i just told you you forget lines look up they have your lines there and they don't shoot it right away. you can learn allot well all of this stuff its really easy Ive memorized everything there is to no about acting. even the behind the cameras and even producer info.
