Question:

Acura CL Jolting and Rough Shifting?

My 1997 Acura 3.0 CL w/ 4 Speed Auto. has been behaving wierdly. Usually, when it is cold, the shifts are a little rough, however, now, when I start driving and i press the gas lightly (b/c the engine is still cold) it shifts very late and feels like it is going faster than I am pushing it. Then when I am stopped, the car jolts forward a little. When the engine is warm, it stops. However, this is something that has just started in the past couple of weeks. What could it be? the spark plugs? btw, the car only has 72k miles.

  1. I have the same car just 99 it was doing the same but mine has 200k miles and i flushed it ..so if you dont know when the last time your transmision fluid was changed check it because there could be particles messing with the shifting in there... take it to a transmission shop...also they sell stuff in a bottle thats supossed to stop rough shifting not sure it works? Acura/honda have been known for transmission problems so check it as soon as you can.

  2. did ya think to have the tranny looked at ???

(if you shift the auto tranny, it's gonna go BYE-BYE.)
