  1. You don't really need it. Reason being, is because Honda's and Acura's are very reliable, and chances are you'll never actually need it. they also work in sneeky ways.

With an extended warranty, (at least with my Honda care extended warranty) the services have to be done at the dealer. For me that means $50 oil changes, $300+ 30/60/90K mile services..... basically everything is more expensive cause i gotta take it to the dealer. So even if something like the transmission fails and it falls under the extended warranty, the dealer has already made so much off of you from you servicing your car there all the time. Not to mention the additional $1,500+ you pay just to add the extended warranty.

The servicing is really good, don't get me wrong, and way less expensive then most other car manufactures, but unless your planning on always taking your car to the dealer and/or your paranoid about something expensive failing, don't bother with the extended warranty. I find the Honda/Acura cars are so reliable, they never have expensive problems unless you drive it too hard. Plus if something like the transmission is gonna go out, chance are it will happen after your extended warranty is already done!
