I have an acura integra 2000 Gsr... just a simple question.. the key has a chip inside that supposedly the engine wont start without the starter recognizing it.. if someone else had the very same exact car would thier key work on my car? and ive never got the chance to try it but is it true that the engine would not start without it because all my keys have the chip inside it.

  1. the chips are CODED to the car it's for...so if all your keys have chips for YOUR car, cars just like yours have different chips.

(besides not all 2 cars are EXACTLY the same (even if they are made by the same people and are the same model), otherwise we would all drive the same car...

  2. hmm, I dont think this is true.

I honestly dont think any integra has that feature, they might have lo-jack but not a chip in the key.

Never heard of this in my years of being a honda enthusiast.

and no!, no key is the identical, every key is different. but it might start your car if they know what they're doing, but who needs a key when a screwdriver is the honda master key! lol.
