Acute and Chronic Duodenal Ulcers - how fun!?

Question

What is the link between acute and chronic duodenal ulcers? My specimen has a bleeding chronic ulcer and several acute ulcers. Whats the link!

Acute ulcers appear over a short period of time and may heal rapidly and naturally. Chronic ulcer is a non healing ulcer. An acute ulcer may become chronic. A chronic duodenal ulcer can have an acute exacerbation.
