Question:

Acuvue 2 colours trial/testing contacts?

So today my doctor gave me 5 different colors of the colored contacts that say test and only have colo for 3/4 of the contact. They were the measurements I am supposed to get 8.3 but the power was 0 since they were just testers. My point is... when I put them in, they would move and the material felt stranger than my oasys contacts now. The contacts moved. Is that normal for a pair of testing contacts?

  1. No, ur eye shape is not suitable for the lenses. Get the eye check again and seek advice from the eye doc asap

  2. coloured contact lenses can be uncomfortable so Im sure its not going to make any difference whether there prescription ones or not.

  3. The Acuvue 2 Colours do have the clear pupil area, unless you get the enhancer ones.

I wear the Freshlook Dimensions, and they are the same way. Mine move very, very slightly, but not to the point that it affects my vision or feels uncomfortable.

The base curves between the Acuvue Oasys and the Acuvue 2 Colours are different, so that may be what's causing the slippage with the Acuvue 2 Colours. The difference between the BC's seems very slight on paper, but it can make a world of difference when you wear them. The Oasys contacts are offered in 8.4/14.0 and 8.8/14.0, and the Acuvue 2 Colours are offered in 8.3/14.0 and 8.7/14.0. Your eye doctor may need to fit you with a different brand of colored contacts, a brand that is closer to the fit of your Oasys contacts.

The material will feel very different than your Acuvue Oasys contacts. The Oasys contacts have more moisture properties in them, to help prevent your eyes from drying out. You might need to get some eye drops that are safe for use with contacts when you wear the Acuvue 2 Colours...the drops will help add some extra moisture to your eyes when they start feeling dry. That should make them a lot more comfortable for you.

The tester contacts are exactly like what you will receive when you actually order them yourself. The only differences between the testers and the ones you order is that the demos say "test" or "demo" on them, and that yours will have your prescription strength when you get them. Other than that, there is no difference.

  4. yea the tester will act just like the prescription colors.  So...the colors actually do block vision when you get the real ones.  I prefer the enhancers because they don't block vision at all.  It feels different because Oasys ones are super hydrating where as the colored ones are not.  If you've ever has regular Acuvue 2 they should feel like that.   Hope I answers your question!
