Adam Ashley Cooper makes a move to Waratahs
Adam Ashley Cooper, the utility back for Australia has signalled Brumbies about his departure to New South Wales Waratahs. His six years tenure with Brumbies is to end now, while the 27 year old will be moving to Sydney on a contract of two years.
Adam Ashley Cooper is an Australian Rugby Union player who mostly plays as a fullback, but also used as a winger and an outside center. He started his Super Rugby career from Northern Suburbs, a provincial club, in 2004 and then was called on by Brumbies
in 2005. He has scored 60 points for Brumbies in his career and won 49 caps. The very same year he was also called on for the Wallabies squad, where he made his international debut in Tri Nations against South Africa. He impressed everyone from international
rugby with his debut performance at Perth. He happens to be Graham Bond’s nephew, a former Wallaby star.
He has played 51 tests and won 37 caps for Wallabies since his arrival. Cooper has been a center of attention for media recently and a subject of conjecture for quite a time now. But his recent decision might settle a few things down, as he is moving to
his family at the Central Coast, where his girlfriend also lives.
An official statement from all the three parties, Brumbies, Waratahs and Cooper is still due. He is expected to come out to press today, but Matt Giteau, the Brumbies captain, has already given a confirmation tweet through his twitter.
The tweet that was written to Cooper by Giteau was, “@admacopy I knew u were going especially wen I gave u a coffee this morning and u said 'tah' instead of thanks.”
Then he congratulated him through his next tweet and supported his decision.
Media has been hinting about his departure and his intentions for moving to Sydney, but nobody assumed it to be this quick. Since February, Cooper has been denying such news and now he himself makes the move for Waratahs. His decision was probably not given
out earlier due to the Waratahs and Brumbies clash, which Waratahs won by 29-22.
