Adam Beschizza to ride Fury in Saturday's William Hill Lincoln Handicap
Veteran jockey, Adam Beschizza, has been given the responsibility to ride Fury in the William Hill Lincoln Handicap, to be held at Doncaster on Saturday.
Fury is making his seasonal return this weekend. The four-year-old will be in action after a gap of more than five months.
His journey came to a halt on a terrible note, as he was below par in his previous run. On October 19, Fury completed the order of finish in the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Conditions Stakes at Newmarket.
It was a disappointing outcome for Fury’s fans, who were expecting the maverick runner to do some damage. Despite a reasonable start, William Haggas’ trainee was never in position to notch up top slot.
Since he got weakened at the end moments, it was not possible for him to challenge the likes of Inler and Secrecy. The Cheveley Park Stud-owned started off his career with a bang in 2010.
On his debut outing, he was a delight to watch, as he sealed top slot in the Bathwick Tyres E B F Maiden Stakes (Div II) at Newbury. Fury was even more impressive in the following race.
The £500,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Trophy saw him topping the chart comprehensively by 1¾ lengths. After two back to back wins at start of his career, the talented gelding lost his direction.
Apart from his runner-up position in the Charles Heidsieck Champagne Heron Stakes, nothing special was produced by him in the next few months.
His lean patch continued until October, when went to a break. Not worried by his previous stats, the connections are expecting him to resume his journey on a winning note.
The coveted ride in Saturday's William Hill Lincoln Handicap has been given to Adam Beschizza, who has plenty of big titles to his name.
Confirming Fury’s outing under Beschizza, Haggas said: "Adam has been booked to ride Fury in the William Hill Lincoln on Saturday."
Fury has been given the second highest odds of 7-1 by the race sponsors. Haggas and Beschizza have a wonderful track record together. The trainer and jockey first teamed up to win John Smith's Cup in July last year.
