Adam Booth: Vitali Klitschko not serious about taking on David Haye – Boxing news
Adam Booth, the trainer of former World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion David Haye, has vehemently denied all the comments put forth by Vitali Klitschko, the current WBA heavyweight champion, regarding the possible bout settlement between the
two heavyweights, a matter which has now become a controversy.
According to the details that popped out on various reliable sources, Booth has condemned the fact that Vitali is serious in taking on and settling the score with David Haye. Adam is of the view that at the end of year 2011 the two parties did made a verbal
agreement but nothing was documented on paper.
The Briton’s trainer accused Vitali that he is just using Haye’s name for the sake of getting in the news and to gain false popularity. The scenario arose when Vitali shared his thought that after Dereck Chisora clash he wants to knock out David Haye, a
feat that his younger brother Wladimir was unable to perform.
Both camps especially David Haye’s corner was ready for any kind of agreement but later on Vitali backed off by saying that the agreement for a fight between the two heavyweights is improbable and miles apart. It is this reason why Adam Booth has rattled
the media by his furious comments.
The Ukrainian Vitali is currently bound to take on the young 28-year-old Briton Dereck Chisora on February 18, 2012 but this bout was not finalised easily since initially Vitali and David were undergoing talks for a bout but later on when the negotiations
did not reach fruition, the world number two Vitali decided to take on the young belligerent Dereck.
The brawl is scheduled to take place at Olympiahalle Arena situated in Munich, Bayern and Dr. Ironfist will put his precious gold on the line. David Haye who took retirement after unanimously losing his title to Vitali’s younger brother Wladimir in July
2011 decided that he will only wear his gloves again if the opponent is any one of the two brothers of destruction.
It was this reason why the David camp was so eager to reach at a unanimous agreement with Vitali and Co but things got sour and later on the boxing fans all around the world were deprived to witness another epic clash between the titans.
Adam said, “It's in their hands. As far as I am concerned all the points have been agreed verbally, but subsequently Vitali came out and said the fight was 'miles away' from being made. I don't understand why he would say that. Maybe they are just using
David's name just to get some publicity.”
Adam harshly shared his experience with the Klitschko duo by saying, “Until they send the contract and until it is signed, I will try not to waste too much time on it because you have to remember, I have negotiated with them four times now and there has
only been one fight.”
If the facts mentioned by Booth are genuine then his bitterness towards the Klitschko brothers is genuine and we cannot see Haye one more time in the ring. It is important to mention here that Vitali and David have never met each other in the squared ring.
Moreover, David Haye in his last career bout lost his WBA heavyweight title to Wladimir Klitschko.
