Adam Duffy determined to follow footsteps of Judd Trump in 2011-12 snooker season – Snooker news
Englishman, Adam Duffy, is determined to follow the likes of his Bristolian friend, Judd Trump, after securing his spot on the main tour of the 2011-12 snooker season. Duffy grabbed the tour card after clinching the quarter-final in the World Snooker Qualifying
School (Q School) 2011.
Duffy and Trump are close friends and have played together in the junior circuit.
The 22-year-old Duffy tried his luck in the first two events of Q School, held at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield, but could not make it to the ultimate stages of those events. He entered the third event with a strong determination and displayed terrific
snooker skills, as he took the main tour ticket beating David Gray 4-2.
The Eckington potter, Duffy, is now on the pro tour and is looking forward to perform brilliantly like his friend, Trump. He is now practising eight hours a day at the baize, to cover all his snooker flaws. He also has plans to practice with Judd Trump and
Ronnie O’Sullivan in London.
While speaking to the local media, Duffy said, “I have been practising solid for three months before the qualifiers, eight hours a day and it’s paid off. I am delighted. Hopefully now I am on the Tour, I will be going down to his place in London and practice
with him, Ronnie and a few of the Chinese players.”
The Bristolian potter, Trump, used to stay at Duffy’s house whenever he went to play in the north. Trump’s success in the China Open and the World Snooker Championship 2011, not only stunned the whole snooker world but also made the Duffy family proud.
Duffy added that he was not astonished with Trump’s performance last season and said, “I wasn’t surprised at Judd’s success last season. When we were juniors I knew he was going to be an absolute class act. He has worked hard this year and it has paid off;
you get everything when you work hard.”
Duffy was currently playing at the 2011 European Snooker Championship, held by the European Billiards and Snooker Association (EBSA) in Sofia, Bulgaria. He reached to the last-16 stage in the event, but lost to the Welsh National Champion, Daniel Wells,
by a 1-5 frame score.
