Adam Gilchrist fears Indian batters can dominate Australia – Cricket News Update
Former Australian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Gilchrist-c918, has predicted that the rock-solid batting line-up of Team India will overcome the new-look Aussie side in the upcoming 4-Test series, starting from December 26, 2011, at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Gilly is of the view that the Australian selectors are still vying for right combinations while their Indian counterparts have picked a perfect squad. He fears that the Men in Blue can make history by winning their first ever Test series on the Oz soil,
as all conditions go to their favour at the moment.
Churchy has used the word ‘world class’ for the Blue batsmen who include the big heads like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sehwag-c2739, claiming that the visitors will definitely go for centuries.
However, he also opines that the Kangaroos are not oblivious to the challenge they are likely to confront, but they merely need to get at the top of their game as the English did a couple of months back at their home grounds, beating India and elevating
to the No.1 Test rank.
Talking to the media today, Gilchrist, who played 96 Test and 287 ODI matches during his international career, said, “It’s a good chance for India with Australia going through a transitional period. They are still finding their way. India have got a few
good results in the last couple of series (against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.”
He further told, “(However) the general view is that wickets have tamed somewhat and the Indian players – they are world-class players – will certainly find ways to score hundreds in those conditions. I wouldn’t say there will be dead wickets but maybe not
as spicy as it used to be in previous years.”
Apart from Gilly, some other cricket experts and analysts have regarded India as favourites for this series. Moreover, the ongoing 2-Test event between Australia and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 is evident of the home team’s shortcomings.
The ex-captain suggests that the Baggy Greens should take these predictions serious and work hard to improve their defence prior to the high-stakes event.
