  1. I would love to see cricket get a lot of media attention, it would definitely be good for the game.

Did you know they did it at the 1998 commonwealth games and it wasn't successful? Would England be able to compete or would it be like football?

I answered you question with more answers, oh well.

  2. An old issue, and ICC has already set the wheels in motion. ICC president was in Beijing to investigate the possibilities of the re-entrance of cricket into Olympics. James Sutherland and Creagh O'Connor was also there in Beijing.

  3. If Baseball is in the Olympics then why shouldn't Cricket be in! Twenty20 is a quick entertaining game and would be more enjoyable for a neutral than BAseball or Softball. The only problem i have with it is because i am English we will have to have a Great Britain team, now does that mean we will have to have some Scottish, Irish and Welsh players in the squad to keep the 'Britishness' going? I would love to see it happen, but from a selfish point of view only if the BEST players are allowed to play unlike the football where you have to have under 23's and only have two senior players.

  4. Maybe. Apart from commonwealth countries and ex British colonies where the game was introduced the Dutch have a team and the USA as well... for the Olympics it should be a sport with a wide international participation base, but if we can have baseball then cricket should be fine. 20/20 would be a good format. I'd also like to see rugby, as that has a huge player base world wide.

  5. And do you have a problem with Adam coming out and saying this?.....

This question has been asked quite a few times and all have said yes it is a good idea to include the olympics into cricket..Infact i first asked this in here about 5 months ago.And all i got were positive replies from cricket fans..

I think it will bring a lot of excitment into cricket, and India may just win another gold medal-In 2020 when they want to bring it in to the olympics...

A good thing for all cricket fans.

  6. If some games that were once considered to be a pastime, and are now termed to be a  "sport" are included I don't see any reason for cricket not to be included in the olympics, at least it is a genuine sport, and inclusion could help to promote the game to a wider  worldwide audience. At the moment, the game is a complete mystery to some countries

  7. Cricket shouldn't be introduced in Olympic as world cup is being held for cricket in every four year.

  8. I agree with the first ansa. I cant see why not, it would be grate. Go ahead, make my day!

  9. yes

  10. YES    SURELY.....

  11. Why not ?

At least countries like India , Pak, Lanka can hope for some medal this way!

  12. It's a good idea in principle, but the Olympics should really only involve non-professional sports.

There is already a 'World Cup' for 1 dayers and 20/20, as well as test matches happening all the time.

Although cricket is becoming more & more popular, there are a lot of counties who either haven't heard of it or won't play it.

Also, playing cricket at the Olympics would need a another seperate stadium altogether as soccer/football requires 3 weeks to complete their competition and I'm sure 10-15 teams playing 20/20 would take just about the same time.

There's already talk of dumping quite a lot of sports with baseball & softball being the first to go. I can't see them dumping baseball to take up cricket.

  13. Why not? If synchronised diving is considered a sport, then Cricket definitely qualifies. Good way to widen the interest in cricket around the world as well.

  14. well players like adam are born in centuries, he is a living legend, i just love his style of batting and keeping, and the point he has raised is also pretty good, if a T 20  match is ends in 2 and half hour or so than why should it not be in the olympic. but as a cricket fan we all know that T 20 is not a real cricket its just a way to have some entertainment, u want real cricket u go to test cricket........
