  1. Its a bloody joke.

    Joke joke joke joke joke.

The tribunal are supposed to be taking a stance on head high hits.

Lethal is right, Goodes is a protected species.

  2. For starters he's not in contention for the Brownlow cos he scored over 100 points..

Love the "Protected Species" comments people..

I tell ya wat, you gotta take wat you can get and thats especially a fact in footy, from the umpires through to the tribunal!!

If he was a player in your team, you'ld shrug your shoulders and say,"oh well, just lucky I guess!?"

So guess what my answer is... " Oh well, just lucky I guess!"

  3. as every one knows goodes is a protected spiecies

  4. Yes, he is cleared to play.

As Leigh Matthews said a few weeks ago - Adam Goodes is a "protected species" when it comes to the AFL. For once I agree 100% with Matthews. Some of the other players suspended during the season should feel very hard done by, considering the penalties they received. In fact they should rename the Sydney Swans.........from that current name to  the Sydney Koalas - as they are, as a team, a protected species. Sydney & Collingwood - the Pies always get special treatment as well. It is not an even playing field.

  5. I am a Sydney supporter so I am happy that he is playing but i think he should have gotten at least two weeks or one week that could not be reduced by an early plea... we have seen similar incidents over the past few weeks and most of them have resulted in weeks.

I think some of the players the Collingwood and Melbourne game will be given a few weeks. The contact in that game was quite ongoing and rough.

The thing is he got a week and if we look at similar experiences lately, it shows the same number of weeks approx. so i guess he got what he deserved and because of his record he can play.

  6. absolute joke, i mean whats wrong with the tribunal, did he bribe them or something...

  7. Dang it! why did he have to get off!? i HATE Goodes.

  8. if robert murphy got given a week for bracing himself, goodes should have got a week, as people said he is a protected species, would want to see the afl tribuneral wouldnt rub out a brownlow medalist who has played 203 games in a row.           what a joke.

  9. This is a joke, this bloke is a repeat offender who gets off time and time again,   he is a protected species.

Totally unfair on all the other blokes who go out for similar things.  I'm not having a go at him or Sydney as such, i am just saying what is obvious.

  10. Ahhh the teflon man!! Anyone else (teammate Barry hall included) would have gone for this I reckon!!

  11. I honestly can't see a problem with this decision. The contact on Selwood was clearly 'low impact' and 'high' but compared to the 3 incidents last week which were all 'bumps', Goodes' wasn't... his was just laziness on his part because he kept running and made contact with his leg instead of tackling which is where the negligent part comes in.

  12. Adam Goodes is my favorite player, but I think this is ridiculous of the AFL to have him cleared once again.

    I don't think it's fair at all.

  13. Burgoyne and Burton should feel ripped-off

  14. It's about time they give Syndey Swans some slack

  15. I would be angry if I were Burguoyne or Burton at the moment, they did exactly the same thing as Goodes and got suspended!

You've gotta wonder about the system....

  16. Clear him! Who cares! I love Essendon and Our Great Game and I'm sick of seeing the following:

    - no hard hits

    - no hip and shoulders

    - no tough players

    - no physicality at all

The AFL was made on players like Leigh Matthews, Gary Ayers, Glenn Archer, John Coleman, Tony Lockett, the kind of players that could do anything with pure physicality... Where is the game I grew up loving gone?

  17. he should not of been reported
