Adam Hadwin has another chance to earn his PGA Tour card
Adam Hadwin played a complete Web.com Tour schedule, along with some PGA Tour events but still failed to earn the PGA Tour card. He competed in a total of 26 tournaments last season but his inconsistent performances let him down.
For Adam, golf is still a bit of leisure but it will become serious this week, as he prepares for the PGA Tour, Q-School.
It has been a see-saw performance from the Canadian this season. He was in contention for one tournament but in the next, he missed the cut.
Such inconsistent performances can never earn a tour card. One has to perform steadily over a long period of time.
His RBC Canadian Open performance summed up his season beautifully. Hadwin shot a magnificent round of 66 on the first day but the following day, he shot a pathetic round of 74 and missed the cut.
On the Web.com Tour, he played in 25 events but missed the cut in thirteen of them. However, one positive aspect this season was that he was in contention for most of the events in which he made the cut.
His four top-ten finishes on the Web.com Tour managed to earn him a place in the Tour Championship, where he needed to finish second in order to earn his card.
Unfortunately, the Canadian missed his intended target by a whisker and finished at a respectable but useless third place.
At the end of the season, Hadwin was 30th on the money tour list for Web.com Tour that earned him a place in the Q-School.
“I just had a feeling that I might have competed a little bit more than I did, instead of three or four events, maybe 10 events that I would have a legitimate shot to win,” Hadwin said.
Hadwin knows that his performances were not satisfactory on the Web.com Tour to earn him a PGA Tour card.
“I played a few tournaments where I didn’t play great. I didn’t play horrible, just kind of average golf and I still missed the cut and I didn’t think that was going to be the case,” he said.
Adam Hadwin stands a decent chance at the Q-school provided that he makes the cut.
