Adam Hinshaw captures Men’s 400m freestyle gold title – 2011 Speedo Junior National Championships
Adam Hinshaw of PASAPC claimed the title of Men’s 400m freestyle meet on day three of the 2011 Speedo Junior National Championships on Wednesday, August 10, in Palo Alto, California, USA.
Hinshaw emerged as the most powerful swimmer of the medium distance freestyle swim, as he posted a time of 3 minutes and 56.27 seconds for the top position. His effort was 16.20 seconds away from the world record of Paul Biedermann of Germany, who clocked
a time of 3 minutes and 40.07 seconds to conquer the title of same event at the 2009 Rome World Championships. Besides, the gold medallist was nearly thirteen seconds behind US record of 3 minutes and 43.53 seconds, set by Larsen Jensen of USA in 2008.
Nonetheless, Hinshaw managed to edge out his closest competitor, Matias Koski of DYNAGA with a difference of just 0.13 seconds. Koski followed him on the medal rostrum for the silver medal, as he submitted a time of 3 minutes and 56.40 seconds. Similarly,
Logan Redondo of MVN-CA was the bronze medallist of the swim, as he remained just 0.29 seconds behind Koski and reported in a time of 3 minutes and 56.69 seconds.
Nicholas Alexiou of CAT-FL surfaced as the fourth fastest swimmer of the event, as he was 0.49 seconds slower than his foregoing finisher and posted a time of 3 minutes and 57.18 seconds. Jason O’Brien of NCA-SI was the fifth fastest swimmer of the freestyle
event, as he clocked a time of 3 minutes and 57.64 seconds.
Moments later, Samuel Shimomura of SCSCPC earned the sixth fastest position of the race, as he produced a time of 3 minutes and 57.95 seconds. Liam Egan of CRIMNE and Janardana Burns of MVN-CA appeared as the seventh and eighth fastest swimmers, after they
both touched the finishing wall with timings of 3:58.33 and 3:59.14 minutes, respectively.
In addition, the arena was stimulated with the heart-winning efforts of all contestants, while the podium finishers were invited on the victory stand after the conclusion of the session.
