Manchester City forward, Adam Johnson claims that he didn’t dive against Fulham to earn a penalty in the game.
City took on Fulham in the Premier League and following an onslaught in the snow, City went on to beat their opponents by three goals to nil.
The first goal that City scored in the game came in rather controversial fashion. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Baird’s and then tumbled over.
The referee didn’t waste time after the tumble and went on to point straight to the spot.
Sergio Aguero stepped up to take the resulting spot kick and went on to send his effort into the back of the net. Johnson then crossed the ball in the area and saw his effort hit Baird and fly into the back of the net.
In the second half, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero went on to set up Edin Dzeko to score with a very easy tap in, to score City’s third goal of the game.
Following the game, Johnson received a lot of criticism as everyone feels the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international dived to win the penalty.
However, the player has come forth and defended his actions and is quoted to have said: “I felt the contact"

"Sometimes in normal time, when you are in the moment, you anticipate contact.”

“There is a fine line between diving and anticipating contact but I felt it and went down. These things happen."

http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 was more than happy with the way Johnson played in the game and after admitting the player played well, he stated that it was high time for the forward to prove his worth and work his way up the pecking order.
"He deserved to have this chance and I hope he can continue because now we have three important months and we need him."
Despite everyone stating Johnson dove to win the penalty, the contact on his leg was rather clear and if the referee didn’t spot a dive during the game, it is rather pointless to argue over what happened.
Even if City didn’t win the penalty, it is safe to assume they would have won the game, given the way they were playing in the game.
