Adam Johnson not concerned about his form
Manchester City talented young winger has played down the talks of a dip in form for his club owing to his inclusion in the English National side.
The 23 year old winger has scored in each of his fixtures for his national outfit while playing against Bulgaria and Switzerland in the Euro 2012 qualifiers. In both the appearances, Johnson was a second half substitute and manager Roberto Mancini asked
the player to work harder than usual owing to his double duty.
"I just want to stay in the team. I have learned a lot about the game since I signed and I will carry on doing that," claimed the 23 year old winger. Johnson is one of the most exciting talents in England and cost Manchester City just 7 million pounds but
couldn’t help his side in their Carling Cup defeat to West Bromwich Albion. The City side had no or little first team players in the Cup match owing to their crunch fixture in the league against the then undefeated Chelsea.
Adam Johnson was also forced to sit on the bench in last weekend’s Chelsea win and was allowed to feature for only 13 minutes in the fixture. The winger however played for a full ninety minutes against Juventus, where he scored the equalizing goal for his
club in a 1-1 draw at the City of Manchester Stadium.
"I have been playing well since the start of the season with England then against Liverpool and Blackburn. It was good to get a goal at the stadium. It has been a while coming. Hopefully it will be the start of many more. It was brilliant to score against
Juventus.", claimed the winger.
The winger is tipped to be one of the in form wingers in the premier league. At the age of 23, he has impressed his club colleagues as well as his country men, and has scored once in his six premier league appearances so far. Johnson absolutely decimated
the Liverpool defence owing to his pace and trickery as the side managed to defeat Liverpool 3-0 at home. Their victory against Chelsea has made it three out of three as Manchester City was the only side who was able to defeat Chelsea on both legs. Having
finished 5th in the league last season, Manchester City now look to atleast secure the Champions league spot, if not winning the entire league. They have every chance of doing so as they are currently level in points to third place Arsenal, who
would playing Chelsea this weekend.
Adam Johnson have produced many man of match performances this season, which include his superb technique against Liverpool. Johnson was also the man of the match in his first match for Manchester City as well as his contribution towards the side’s 1-1 draw
against Blackburn Rovers. With his form, Johnson can destroy any defence and is uncatchable with his speed. In his four appearances for the English National side, Johnson has already scored two tremendous goals. His services would come in handy when Manchester
City travel to St James Park on Sunday and the player would be expected to combine with Carlos Tevez and Milner to break a side who has also defeated Chelsea in the Carling Cup.
