Adam Lind’s dominant effort guides Toronto Blue Jays over the Texas Rangers 10-3 – MLB Update
Toronto Blue Jays’ designated hitter Adam Lind did an outstanding job with the bat as he struck two homers which resulted in the Blue Jays 10-3 victory against the Texas Rangers at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on April 26.
Lind said of his performance, “It's coincidence, I don't know. I remember my first two years, I didn't do anything here. The second one was his first pitch, just swung. The first one I hit it on the sweet spot.”
Lind gave a fast start by taking five RBI singles in the first inning and led off the Jays with an initial 5-0 lead. He hit his first home-run in the third inning and the other was in the fourth inning. Lind overall made three runs on three hits. It was
considered his fifth game of his baseball career in which he hit two homers.
The Blue Jays’ Manager John Farrell was pleased with the way Lind hit against the pitchers. He expressed his excitement as, “It was good to see some guys put some good swings right from the get-go, and history certainly speaks to what Adam Lind can do at
this ballpark. It's just very encouraging to see him with that kind of production.”
The Jays’ players performed well, that is why they attained the peak of a big score. They started strong as they got two singles on first two throws of the game. One was taken by Yunel Escobar and the other hit was by Corey Patterson. Jose Bautista also
performed really well as he made two runs on a single hit. He is a tremendous cleanup hitter and has a batting average of .362 with 23 walks.
Travis Snider hit a grounder for a double-play before the walks on two loaded bases. The Jays’ starter Jesse Litsch was little bit expensive as he gave away three runs on six hits including three earned runs and had only one strike-out in six inning pitches.
The Jays’ relievers also threw well as they were scoreless in their respective pitching.
On the other side, the Rangers posted their runs in the second inning when the bottom players showed their role of hitting some shots. David Murphy went 1-for-4 and got out but Yorvit Torrealba made a solo RBI single, Julio Borbon took two-run single and
Chris Davis had a double for the Rangers.
The Rangers’ starter Matt Harrison had one of the worst days in his baseball career as he gave away seven runs on eight hits, including seven earned runs and one strike-out in just three inning pitches. Speaking to reporters, he said, “It was a night I want
to forget. They came out swinging the bat, then walked a few guys and made it worse than it should have been.”
Darren O’ Day performed better than the other pitchers as he was scoreless in his one inning pitches.
