Adam Parr claims Williams will fight in 2011 until the very end – Formula 1 news
Williams’ chairman Adam Parr has recently stated that the team is going to fight until the very end keeping in mind that the team went through its worst start to a Formula 1 season in 2011.
With just 8 races to go, Parr believes that the team can still make a comeback and probably improve its performance drastically.
“We are halfway through the season. We just have to do a better job. No one in this team has given up on this year, we will keep going until we do better. It's all one can say,” he said.
The team has just secured 4 points with the help of Rubens Barrichello up until now and they are the least points scoring team of the sport at the moment. Team Lotus, Hispania Racing Team and Virgin Racing Team have not secured a single point on the other
hand as a result of which, Williams are in 9th place in the constructors’ standings.
“There is a real sense of optimism about the future. Everybody in the team is thrilled to be back with Renault next year, very happy with the new people coming in. I think people needed to feel change. Everyone individually has been doing the best they can,”
Parr added.
There are rumours that Barrichello might not be a part of the team in 2012 but nothing has been confirmed yet regarding this matter. Currently, Adrian Sutil and Nico Hulkenberg from Force India are being linked with Williams for a possible race seat but
they might not want to join them since they are currently in a better team.
Parr however claims that the team has already begun working on its 2012 car and he added that most of the teams have done the same.
Since Formula 1 is on a month-long break at the moment, the teams are trying their best to improve their respective cars in order to get a positive change for scoring better results.
Williams are going to go through a tough time during these last 8 races as they are currently nowhere near their rivals in terms of pace.
