Adam Parr wanted to resign from Team Williams: Formula 1 News
According to a recent statement by the Chief Executive of Team Williams, Adam Parr, he also wanted to resign from the team as a part of the restructuring process but his resignation was not accepted by the team.
“Absolutely, I tendered my resignation to Frank [Williams], Patrick [Head] and Toto [Wolff, shareholder]. I am responsible and I took the responsibility to do whatever they wanted to do,” said Parr.
It has been recently announced by the team that their Technical Director Sam Michael and Chief Aerodynamicist Jon Tomlinson are going to leave the team by the end of this year.
Williams went through their worst start to a Formula 1 season in their history this year, but the team is hoping to improve their performance by introducing some upgrades in the future.
Either way, it is quite disappointing for the team, as almost all of their experienced workers are willing to leave the team which is also going to create a bad image for the team in a way.
However, Parr added that this does not mean that he is solely responsible for what has happened and revealed that he addressed the team’s whole factory in order to apologize for his part in this failure.
Other than that, he added that the new Chief Engineer of the team, Mike Coughlan, can become the new Technical Director of the team by the end of this season, but confirmed that no decision had been taken yet.
“We have a technical director until the end of the year, and it is important to have clarity in the roles. Mike, as chief engineer, will be driving forward our engineering process and ensuring systems are in place for success. He will be responsible for
the FW34, next year's car, and how that develops,” said the team’s Chief Executive.
With the Turkish Grand Prix lined up for this weekend, the team will be hoping to give their best despite all of these internal problems they are going through currently as a part of their restructuring process.
