Adam Scott: - Australian Golf Legend
Adam Derek Scott is an Australian professional golfer born who was born on 16th July, 1980. Often talked about as a natural descendant to Greg Norman in Australian golf, Adam is considered a legend. This could also be because Norman’s former caddy
joined Scott in 2004 and Adam is now coached by a famous instructor Butch Harmon.

On January 7th 2007, he reached a career high Official World Golf Ranking of third place due to a second place finish at the Mercedes-Benz Championship. Scott was born in Adelaide, Australia and went to an elegant Anglican boy’s school. Following
his primary education, he attended The Southport School in middle school and then finished his high school at The Kooralbyn International School. In high school, Scott went on to work on his passion for the game. Some of the subjects that he took were related
to golf. For some time, Scott also attended the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.
Scott officially turned professional in 2001. The first year as a professional, Adam struck jack pot and was triumphant in the European Tour’s Alfred Dunhill Championship in Johannesburg, South Africa.  Scott beat the English Justin Rose by only one stroke
and became known in the world of golf.
A year after that, Scott was again victorious in the European Tour. He won the Qatar Masters, where he achieved victory by six strokes. The runner ups of the tournament were Jean-Francois Remesy and Nick Dougherty. 2002 also brought the Scottish PGA Championship
title for Scott which he earned by beating Raymond Russell by ten strokes.
In 2003, Scott earned another European victory when he beat Nick Dougherty in the Scandinavian Masters by 2 strokes. In 2003, he also got his first PGA win when won the Deutsche Bank Championship. Adam achieved his first victory in America by beating Rocco
Mediate by four strokes. More PGA good news came in 2004 when he won The Players Championship and Booz Allen Classic where he defeated Padraig Harrington and Charles Howell III respectively. In 2005, he also won the Nissan Open that pushed him up till the
top ten of the official World Golf Rankings.  Scott stayed 180 weeks in the top 10 rankings. That year, Scott also won on the PGA of Australia when he defeated Retief Goosen in the Johnnie Walker Classic.
Now, Adam focuses more on the American circuit but still likes playing all around the world. In 2006, he was triumphant in the Tour Championship when he defeated Jim Furyk by three strokes.  That year, due to his amazing feats, Scott ended up on third place
on the PGA Tour money list. In 2008, Scott participated in various European events. This earned him a spot on the European Order of Merit for the first time since 2005. Scott’s performance took a downfall in 2009 and he no longer remained in the Top 50 of
the World Rankings. Due to his poor form, he did not even remain in the top 100 of the PGA tour money list.
Scott represented his native Country in the WGC-World Cup in 2002 and also played in the international team at the Presidents Cup in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009.

Currently, Scott is the touring professional at the Palms Golf Course Sanctuary Cove located in Australia.  After a bad season in 2009, the Australian is really working on his game.  He got back in the winner’s circle when he won the Texas Open in May. Since
then, Adam has posted four top 10 finishes and is improving his game.
"I'm fairly pleased with where my game is at. It's still a work in progress but I can see there is a lot of room for improvement, which is good. And it makes me believe that I can be a better player than I was before," said Scott. “It's just part of a big
process which takes time to work on. Fortunately, in golf we have a lot of years to work on it."
In 2011, Adam will play more in the PGA events and is really looking forward to competing in them.
