The first day of the U.S. PGA Championship finally comes to an end. The Kiawah Island Golf Resort, the Ocean Course is the venue for this prestigious event. The major teed off on the 9th of August and is supposed to end on the 12th
of August.
At this event, the elite golfers of the world are going to give their best performance to impress the spectators. After the last round collapse at the British Open by Adam Scott, all eyes were on him.
Scott was well in the lead and was about to make history but in the end carded four consecutive bogeys on the last four holes, which made him finish one stroke behind Ernie Els.
Scott has still not lost all hope. He came to Kiawah Island with the same determination and had a good first round.
Adam Scott had a spectacular start to the tournament and teed off the front nine with two consecutive birdies. The two birdies were followed by a bogey on the fourth hole.
This was the only one of the round for the player. Towards the end, he carded another birdie on the seventh hole. These made his score two-under par on the front nine. His back nine was somewhat similar to his front nine.
He just had two birdies on the back nine. - on the eleventh and sixteenth hole. These made his score two-under par on the back nine and his total score climbed up to four-under par.
Adam Scott was tied on the sixth spot with seven other players and was two strokes behind the top of the leaderboard, Carl Pettersson. Pettersson had a magnificent six-under par at the end of the first day.
In an interview Scott said, “You’ve got to take advantage when you’re playing well. Obviously I was playing well at the Open, and moving forward I couldn’t let those last few holes spoil my good play. Last week I was a little out of rhythm, but it came back
quickly this week and it feels good”.
“I’d love to use this opportunity while I’m playing well to get in there and have a sniff on Sunday,” he added.
