Adam Scott confirmed for the Ballantine's Championship
The current world number twelve Adam Scott is gearing up to participate in the Ballantine's Championship, scheduled to take place from April 26 to 29, 2012.
After displaying a tremendous performance at the PGA Tour events, the 31-year-old Australian professional golf player looks set to play the first European Tour event of the current season, at the Blackstone Golf Club, Icheon in Seoul, South Korea.
He is confident and hopeful to do his best at the four-day tournament, being staged in Asia. On the other hand, he is also aiming to win the title and pocket a handsome prize of €2,205,000.
"It's true that I've enjoyed playing in Asia over the years and I have had a certain amount of success which is great," Scott said.
"I'd love to add Korea to the list of countries that I've won in because this tournament has certainly grown in stature".
"I think that's shown by the players who have come over here to play so it would be a great honour to win this week, and I hope I've got a chance".
Scott kicked off his PGA Tour season in February by playing the Northern Trust Open. He finished tied for the 17th position at the end of the day.
He then teed off the World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship on February 26 and finished on the T33 position.
Later in March, he played another mega event, the World Golf Championships - Cadillac Championship and finished tied for the 13th position.
He amazed his fans in an unofficial event of the Tavistock Cup, as he displayed a stunning performance and finished tied for the 3rd.
On April 8, he teed off the first major of the year -- the Masters Tournament -- in an impressive style. He competed well throughout the four days in Augusta and shot several birdies and pars. He scored a 4-under 284 and finished tied for the 8th
position and earned $232,000.
Now, he is focusing more on winning his first title of the year and adding another European Tour accolade. He will be facing Ian Poulter, Paul Casey, Angel Miguel Jimenez and James Morrison.
Scott is enough capable to compete against these hottest players. However, he still needs to focus on scoring more birdies and carding fewer bogeys throughout the four days.
