Adam Scott finding it hard to bounce back
The most awaited event of the PGA Tour, the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational is in full swing. The fans are getting their money’s worth as the elite players of the world go head to head. The venue for this prestigious event is the Firestone Country Club in Akron,
Ohio.
The event teed off on the 2nd of August and being a four-day event, it is going to end on the 5th of August.
Without a doubt the first day at the Akron was filled with excitement. One of the players who were under the spotlight was Adam Scott. After the magnificent performance at the British Champion Open, he was expected to give an outstanding performance at this
event as well.
He had the best rounds at the British Open. Despite that, he could not see it through to the end. Scott was well in the lead. The four consecutive bogeys on the last four holes of the final day cost him the game.
He himself was quite disappointed and was looking forward to making a strong comeback while defending the Invitational title.
Unfortunately for the 32-year-old, he did not manage to register a good score on the board and was struggling throughout the first day at the Akron.
Scott did not have a single birdie, eagle or ace on the front nine. He carded only one bogey that was on the sixth hole. Thus, he had a score of one-over par on the front nine.
He was not able to do anything special on the back nine. He carded two birdies, on the eleventh and seventeenth hole. Unfortunately for the Australian professional golfer, he scored a double bogey on the fourteenth hole.
These made his score par on the back nine and his total score climbed up to one-over par. Scott was very disappointed with his performance at Akron.
He blamed his bad game on the stress from the British Open. He said, "To spend the whole week in the mix in England, and then have a type of finish where I spent a few days thinking about it - and then having to deal with speaking to everyone in general
about it here".
“It was hard for me to switch my mind back on it at times out there,” he added.
