Adam Scott hopes to shine in the current PGA season
Adam Scott appears to be in high spirits, as he is gearing up to make his season’s PGA (Professional Golf Association) debut at the much-awaited Northern Trust Open.
He expressed his views in recent interviews and showed increased interest in his return at the PGA.
Northern Trust Open will be his first tournament at the PGA this year and he is hoping to display an impressive game at Riviera Country Club.
"I'm feeling pretty good about what is in store for me," Scott said. "I was generally happy with my form throughout 2011, and I'm confident I will do better this year".
He continued, "I'm going to have to do better because there sure are a lot of guys on Tour now who know how to play, and know how to win".
He is the winner of eight PGA events since he turned professional in 2003. He performed well till 2007, but started to face tough times.
After that, he only won the title of 2008 EDS Byron Nelson Championship in playoff mode.
Similarly, he was again unable to make the cut in most of the PGA tournaments in 2009 and finished the season without a win.
In 2010 and 2011, he continued the same performance and only won two titles in the two years.
However, Scott’s performance during the 2011 year was impressive. He won the title of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in August.
This was his only victory in the last PGA season but overall results are also appealing, as he was able to make the cut after making an all-out effort.
He currently possesses the third position according to the Official World Golf Rankings. He finished most of the tournaments in the top-10.
He brought back his golf passion and increased the level of his interest in the game as well. "I'm not that far away (from No. 1)," Scott said.
"I know Luke (Donald) has a pretty good lead on No. 2 at the moment. With consistent play over the next year, I believe that No. 1 is certainly attainable. It is the first time in my career as a professional that it has been realistic for me,” he added.
The 31-year-old Australian professional is confident enough and looking forward to the current season. High desires and willingness to be on top will help him and push him towards the leading positions.
