Adam Scott over takes Brandt Snedeker at the top
Adam Scott once again fired a blistering round of 68. He never looked out of sorts, unlike Brandt Snedeker, who could not come up with an impressive performance. The conditions were absolutely perfect for golf, there was slight wind but other than that,
everything was just perfect.
It was a day where many faded away, even Tiger Woods could only manage a par score. However, the shot of the day came from an Indian, Lahiri, who aced the par 3 hole.
Adam Scott is currently leading the leaderboard by four shots, following him is the Irishman, Graeme McDowell. Brandt Snedeker looked wayward in the third round but his superb putt on the last hole saved the day for him.
From tee shots to pins, Adam Scott was simply superb and his putting was absolutely perfect. The Australian comfortably sat on the top with a score of 11-under par, followed by McDowell and Snedeker.
Tiger Woods did not have the best of days. He started poorly with bogeys on the first three holes, though he fought with consecutive birdies later on but the damage was done by that time.
Tiger will need to play extremely well on Sunday and if he has to win, then the skies must favour him.
On the thirteenth hole, there was a light slip up from Adam when he bogeyed, following a loose putt but he gathered himself up and finished strongly in the end.
Snedeker had a poor round in which he scored six disappointing bogeys and three birdies. The fact that he had two flawless first rounds and then six bogeys’ in the third is pretty absurd.
Scott, at the moment, has the best chance to win the Open, considering the fact that he has a four shot lead, plus his calculations on the course are perfect.
It would be too early to say who is the favourite to lift the Claret Jug but one never knows what happens next. The likes of Tiger Woods, Brandt Snedeker, and McDowell are still in contention.
Zach Johnson had the best score on the third round, shooting 66. He is not too far behind either, along with Ernie Els.
