Adam Scott to participate at Deutsche Bank Championship at Boston TPC
Australian golfer Adam Scott went through one of the most impressive U.S. PGA tour of his life up till now. Now that the tour is over, Scott is gearing himself up for the upcoming tournaments - starting with the Deutsche Bank Championship in Norton, Massachusetts on Labour Day weekend. As most eminent golfers around the world are aiming to win the end-of-season playoffs, Scott will be participating in this week’s Deutsche Bank Championship at Boston TPC.
Adam Scott is confident and enthusiastic about improving in the FedEx Cup standings. Right now his rankings are not that bad. Scott came at the ninth spot at the Barclays in New Jersey on Sunday. Due to his breath-taking performance in New Jersey, the Australian golfer’s position has changed from 32nd to 19th in the standings.
The top seventy players in the standings will proceed from Boston to the Penultimate event at Cog hill. The BMW Championship will take place from 9-12 September. Had it not been for the three putts which according to Scott were crusty and hard, his position could be even more foreboding than what it is right now as those putts at the Ridgewood Country Club helped him out. Adam Scott is very eager to move on forward and he cannot control his excitement about what’s to come in the future.
"I'm playing some amazing golf," Scott said after his final round at the Barclays."There were points of frustration on the greens, but the putting is better. It's improving. I felt it at the PGA starting to get better. I had a good attitude this week and it all helps.”
Scott is one of the top rated players in the upcoming tournament but still has to win a major tournament till date. Scott’s rankings drastically fell last year due to this very reason. Overall, Adam said that it was very incredible and that he has not hit quality shots like these before.
Fooled throughout his career by a not so cooperative putter, Scott is now getting on top of his game and knows his strengths and weaknesses. We all remember what happened on the first day of the British Open when Scott struggled into the second round, shooting a 71 on a highly anticipated debut major. Scott says that’s not really a good thing but he has to be optimistic, look at the brighter side of things and move on. He also believes that it’s a good time to start off with a good performance since he is close with the putter.
According to Tony Navarro, whose Scott’s caddie, Adam couldn’t have finished inferior than ninth spot at the Barclays. That’s how great Scott was from tee to green. In Adam’s opinion, he has just taken a giant step towards becoming a ‘player’.
It seems like Scott’s jubilation will just move up a level when he enters the Boston TPC. This is the same place where a second round record breaking nine-under par 62 made Adam earn a four-stroke victory at the Deutsche Bank Championship in 2003.After tying for the second spot with Tiger Woods in 2004, Scott achieved a big feat. Present at all five championships in Boston, Adam has still not missed the cut.
Just like many golfers are excited about the Ryder Cup selections, Scott really hopes to come in the top 70 in order to qualify for the BMW Championship. He is one of the many Australian golfers who are working day in and day out just to be good enough for the top seventy spots.
Robert Allenby, who is 24th in the FedEx Cup standings, Jason day (14th), Scott, Stuart Appleby (36th) and Geoff Ogilvy (52nd) they all seem safe. Other players like Greg Chalmers, John Swenson and Michael Sim still need to work more to make the cut.
All the players, no matter where they are from, are trying their best. Including Scott, there are many who feel that confident and are impatiently waiting for the event to start. The tournament will commence on Friday.
