Adam Scott wins The Barclays Singapore Open 2010

The Barclays Singapore Open was held from the 11th of November till the 14th of November at the Serapong and the Tanjong golf course in Singapore. According to leaderboard statistics, out of 204 golfers, Adam
Scott managed to grab the top place with a minus 17 while Anders Hansen attained the runners up position after carding a minus 14.
The last and fourth round of the event witnessed the thirty year old Scott hold a three shot lead over the runner up. The 2000 turned professional is said to attain his first European title after more than 2 years. Other than the
title, the Australian is said to achieve his 7th European Tour win and his 3rd Singapore Open crown. The previous Singapore Open crown wins were achieved by the thirty year old in the year 2005 and the year 2006.
Initially the first round of the tournament had been halted for a good 4-hour rain stretch and was then suspended due to darkness only to witness the last round stop for more than 5 and a half hours because of the electric storm.
Scott and the followers played what was left of the last round on Monday where the leader board was well led by the Australian golfer with three strokes. Scott still had to play 10 holes after the game resumed with Ian Poulter.
The gap narrowed a bit in length after the Englishman’s attempt and decreased Scott’s lead by two shots. Unfortunately, the race towards victory subdued a little in its nature after Poulter carded a bogey at the 12th
hole of the golf course.
To Poulter’s despair, his score inflated further after he sent one of his white balls into the huge trees and hence recorded a double bogey. Scott, as compared to Poulter irritated the Englishman’s score further by carding a birdie
at the same hole.
The 16th and the 17th hole of the tournament went quietly for the thirty year old golfer who achieved a par. His 18th shone brilliantly on his score card when he carded a birdie and he felt great.
According to Scott, the golfers have had a long week and it’s a relief that the tournament finally finished.  He said that he was ecstatic to grab a victory like this but he still didn’t feel great about how he performed. The thirty
year old golfer said that his back nine was a bit out of place but the good part was that he was playing at one of his most favourite golf courses ever.
Where Poulter and Scott fought for the apex, it was Hansen who won the second place. Poulter tripped to the line and Hansen won the second position with a striking 68.
The winner of the tournament carded a 267 in total with 2 consecutive 65s and then one 69 and the other 68. He finished at minus 3 at the last round where as the Danish runner up played 270 strokes in total for a 71, 66, 65 and
a 68 to end with minus 14 in the end.
