Adam Wainwright shines as the Cardinals beat the Miami Marlins

The St. Louis Cardinals victory over the Miami Marlins on Friday, March 23, had a reassuring aspect. The starter Adam Wainwright has made a tremendous stride to finally become a regular part of rotation, enunciating his awaited and dreaded return.
The game that saw the exceptionally amazing performance of the Cardinals on Friday – which resulted in 2-1 win over the Marlins at the Roger Dean Stadium, had a prominent feature in Wainwright’s being ever stronger and efficient.
The starter who had missed the past year due to Tommy John surgery on his throwing elbow went aggressively against the Marlins on Friday, pitching five innings. All the innings that he pitched were scoreless, having had five strikeouts to virtually disarm
the Marlins offence.
This was obviously a good news for the pitcher himself who has been putting all efforts to be completely prepared – both mentally and physically, to take to the mound. The 65 pitches that he hurled showed the signs of major improvement.
"Every time out, for the most part, I've felt more comfortable on the mound and felt like I have been able to make adjustments on the fly," Wainwright said. "As you go into a season, that's what you want."
However, much as the Cardinals were impressive enough to outrival the Marlins, the latter’s team manager Ozzie Guillen said he was not worried about hitting as he maintains the team is playing good baseball.
"You have three guys out of the lineup that should be," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "That's kind of hard. In the meanwhile, we're going to hit. We're going to be fine. I am not worried about that. We're playing good baseball. We're pitching well.”
Adam Wainwright’s ability to pitch well and regains the momentum at this juncture brings about a good news for the Cardinals. This is largely because Chris Carpenter does not seem in good shape to have the start now as his previously diagnosed neck stiffness
is actually the nerve irritation.
Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see how Adam Wainwright pitches in the regular season once he finally comes to play.
