The 61-year old Scott was relieved of his duties by the club two weeks ago, following the Reds toilsome 2011/12 campaign which saw them finish the league table at the eighth spot.
Adam, who was signed by Dalglish in the summer previous year, conceded that he was dumbstruck to hear the news of his departure and he was the very reason why he opted to play for the Merseyside club at the first place. However, he mentioned that he had
no doubt that the owners had taken the decision in the best interest of Liverpool, and hailed the efforts of the Fenway Sports Group in reviving the club’s stature.
He told the reporters, “Dalglish was a key factor in me going to Liverpool – but he’s gone now so we have to move on. I was surprised when he left but the owners make these decisions.”
Following the Scott’s ouster, Liverpool are yet to name the new boss at Anfield. Even though the Reds have pursued multiple candidates in their hunt, reports have put the current Wigan Athletic manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468 in the pole position to take over the
post.
Nevertheless, the 26-year old midfielder expressed his hunger of making a mark for the Reds in the next term, irrespective of who gets the management seat at Anfield, and mentioned that he was honoured to be a part of Liverpool.
He also revealed his disappointment for being on the sidelines in the closing stages of the season after picking up an injury, which subsequently saw him sit out the FA Cup final and fail to play a role in the Reds run-in.
He continued, “I couldn’t help the lads when they needed it. So I need to be fully fit to show the new man what I can do. I’ll be all geared up for that and trying to impress the new manager.”
