Guatemala’s Adams Rodriguez stretched his winning run and advanced into Boy’s Singles U19 quarter-final after defeating his local opponent Felix Deblois Beaucage in the round-of-16 match at the XXI Pan Am Junior Championships 2012 in Canada, on Wednesday,
July 25.
Adams, who has been seeded at number three in Boy’s Singles draw in the event, put up staggering show by playing at his best speed and overpowered his un-seeded Canadian rival easily in just 25 minutes with a considerable margin.
The higher ranked Adams was quite positive and composed on court as he did not show any sign of pressure throughout the battle and easily won it by ousting his opponent in straight sets with a wonderful difference on the board.
In the meanwhile, Felix failed to show his lofty skills as his rival was too strong in all areas of the court. He remained unable to shake the confidence of his higher ranked opponent and lost to him without securing any game.
The opening game was absolutely shocking for Felix as he could not stop his aggressive opponent from taking control of rallies and remained struggling to find a good rhythm.
On the other hand, Adams played impressive game without making unforced errors and he established a striking lead of 11-6 until the one-minute break.
The third seeded Adams continued pushing his local challenger in all corners with his impressive drives and remained in dominating position on score board.
Adams was focused and aggressive in his play and easily clinched the opening set of the match with a reasonable margin of 21-18.
In the second set, Adams started his run in an authoritative manner by playing attacking badminton and he again took a wonderful lead of 11-6 until the end of opening half.
After the break, Adams continued showing his remarkable craft on court as he did not lose his control over the pace of rallies and easily bagged the game with a fabulous 21-12 score on the board.
The in-form Adams easily stamped his mark over Felix in straight sets with a convincing difference of 21-18 and 21-12.
