Hi. I am bring an adapter with me to paris and nice to use with a dual voltage ipod charger, blowdryer and straightner.

what are your experences? does it work? have you had problems

  1. It will work fine.  France is 50Hz power (US is 60Hz) so the drier will run a bit slower (5/6 speed).  Charging the ipod will work fine.


  2. What kind of adapter? One that changes the voltage, or just one for the type of plug?

    Since the ipod charger is dual voltage, you only need an adapter to take care of the type of plug.

    The dryer is more of a problem. Unless it's dual voltage, you will need an adapter that changes the voltage. You didn't say where you are (yahoo picks up UK and US questions, so it's best to say which is your case).

    Dryers take quite a bit of current, so the adapter would have to be quite hefty to work with a US dryer. A UK dryer would be no problem because the voltage is nominally the same.
