Question:

Add a Parent to Your Insurance...?

I work full-time and I have health insurance through my job. I also help take care of my mother (though she's not really my dependent). With her medical conditions, and her recent trips to the hospital, she has medical expenses that Medicare does not completely cover (i.e. prescriptions). She also get Social Security and Disability payments. However, I would like to make sure that her medical needs will be completely taken care of.

Is there any way I can add my mother to my health insurance, so she can receive some of my benefits? I plan to talk to the HR department at my office, but I was just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and how you handled it.

Please let me know. Thanx!
