I was wondering if it's possible to add texting to an existing Verizon wireless plan. I looked all over Verizon's site but it really didn't tell me anything. Does anyone know how much it costs to add unlimited?

  1. ya just go into ''ur verizon store or call them and just tell them.     It's just 5 dllrs extra.

  2. I think Its $10 to add unlimited texting.

  3. You can go into a Verizon store, call Verizon from your cell phone (dial 611 and send) or if you don't have an account online you can create one by going to http://www.verizonwireless.com and you can set up your account and add texting or any other feature.  It will not extend you cell phone contract, it's just an add on feature which is completely separate.  Click on plan and follow the prompts to add or delete options.

    There are several options:

$5 a month - 250 texts/pix/flix (sent & received total) does not include unlimited "IN" texting.

$10 a month - 500 texts/pix/flix (sent & received total) and unlimited "IN" texting to Verizon customers

$15 a month - 1500 texts/pix/flix (sent & received total) and unlimited "IN" texting to Verizon customers

$20 a month - 5000 texts/pix/flix (sent & received total) and unlimited "IN" texting to Verizon customers.

In your monthly text allowance you can sent text messages, picture messages and video messages and for each one you send or receive it will pull from your monthly allowance.  Same for instant messaging (AOL, Yahoo, MSN), for each message you send or receive it will come from your monthly text allowance.

"IN" texting to Verizon customers means you can text, etc. to Verizon customers and it will not pull from your monthly text allowance as it is unlimited to Verizon customers, except for instant messaging - that doesn't make a difference it will come out of your monthly text allowance.

Now if you are currently on the Nationwide calling plan you can add unlimited texting (text, pix, flix, IM) for $20 on an individual plan or $30 for a family share plan.  And on a family share plan everyone will get the unlimited texting.  I've checked into this as I have 3 lines and my mother definately doesn't need texting as she doesn't even know what it is but she would get it as well, cannot exclude her per Verizon.

If you are not on the current Nationwide calling plan you cannot, per Verizon, get unlimited texting.  You will have to get one of the others that I listed above, or upgrade to Nationwide.  Keep in mind the lowest texting plan at $5 a month does not have "IN" texting so if you text a Verizon customer you will pull from your monthly allowance. This is the only plan that does not have unlimited "IN" texting.

    Hope this helps!

  4. Yup sure is its $20 a month for unlimited texting and when you add it they will say its gonna be a 1 year contract for it (this will not make your contract any longer.. its like a side contract just for unlimited)

  5. Yes you can you can call verizon or go to a local verizon wireless store and you can tell them to add texting to your plan. Go on verizon wireless.com to see how much the plans are.
