Addai, Westbrook, or Jackson?

These three players are going to fall to me at #6. Which of these three players would you take? Addai has the best upside IMO, Westbrook was the best of the these last season and probably wont slow down too much this year, and Jackson has a ton to prove from last season and is a highly talented back.

  1. definitely westbrook.

  2. westbrook

  3. I'm more than a little surprised to see all of them available at #6.  How did that happen?

Footballguys.com has them, in standard format, ranked as follows:

    Westbrook #3

    Jackson #4

    Addai #5

I would have expected to see you choosing from Marion Barber, Portis, Larry Johnson, Brady perhaps...

    All three are terrific choices.

All three catch a lot of passes, a nice bonus.

Jackson comes off the worst in the injury department.

Westbrook historically has been an injury risk, but he's finished two seasons now.

    Addai had some minor injuries.

Addai is the safe pick, but I really like Steven Jackson.  He powered my team to a title two years ago, and he goes together with Bulger like peanut butter and jelly.

All three are fine.  Go with your gut.  All three are studs.

EDIT: Ah, it must be very favorable.  You should be able to wait and still get Romo/Palmer/Brees, or wait longer for Roethlisberger or Jay Cutler.  Don't sleep on Cutler.

  4. then you are forced to take romo or brees.

go to a site that allows you to input your scoring system, and you can see how ADP changes based on scoring. my gut instinct says that if manning and brady go above addai or even jackson, then you have to take a qb to defend yourself. very likely, one or more of these guys will be available in the 2nd round anyway.

  5. Westbrook, fosho

  6. If the league highly favors QB's then take a long hard look at Romo.  I had him last year and wasn't disappointed.

However, if you decide to go RB I would lean toward Jackson.  He will give you the most rushing yards and will be very solid in the number of catches and receiving yards.

Westbrook is looking like a popular top 3 pick, but he is to much an injury risk for my #1 pick.

I picked up Addai last year and he was solid.  There are just 2 problems with him, #1 he does not get as many rushing yards as I would like #2 Colts have a tendency to rest guys near the end of the season.  Nothing is worse than having your #1 back not play during fantasy playoff games.

Jackson isn't without his problems but he is the main focus of the Rams offense.  When healthy he is one of the best fantasy backs alive.

  7. That's a tough call...Westbrook isn't getting any younger, however with McNabb always injured it's a sure bet he'll get a ton of carries (if he can stay healthy)....Jackson is too iffy (so are the Rams)...Addai is young, healthy, and proven.  But with Marvin Harrison back the Colts might spend the season airing it out.  All three are a gamble, but if I had to choose just one, I'd take Addai.

  8. if Westbrook is there you would be lucky he puts up huge numbers every year
