  1. No, it isn't safe to swim until you get rid of that algae.  But you MUST shock the pool and get all water levels correct before swimming.  I'd highly advise you to get a water sample and take it to your nearest pool supply store.  Let them tell you what chemicals to add and when you can safely swim.  You could get very sick if you swim in algae.  THe reason the algae appeared is because the water isn't safe.

  2. Have you checked to see if you have added the correct amount.

Have you had the pump on long enough for the algaecide to fully mix.

I'm currently doing my pool but my algaecide is coming into the pool via the filter as a cloud of white bubbles.

    only 200ml per 10m3

Brush, hoover, clean skimmers filter and get your pump on for a few hours.

    Check Ph levels a chlorine

  3. Did you use copper sulphate?  Some algaecides have it in, but in a stabilised form.  If you used it neat it will get rid of algae, but will stain skin and hair.

I got this advice from an excellent Q&A page on this website: http://www.askalanaquestion.com/pool_alg...
