Adderall. I just started this medication 3 days ago and wanted to know if my side effects were normal...?

I also wanted to know how long it takes to feel real results and if the side effects lessen over time. I have always been forgetful but now I think I might be even a little more forgetful but of little things I wouldn't be so forgetful of before the meds. I have some of the common side effects also: rapid heart beat, trouble falling asleep, anxiety. Does any of this change over time? I'm a 34 year old female in good health otherwise.

That is normal for initial use.  I like to take it very early in the morning, like 6 am or so, and drink a lot of water- all day long.  It may give you cotton mouth if you don't stay hydrated.  If you are taking Adderall XR, it is the time release version and will last approx 8 -12 hours, so try and take it as soon as you start your day.  That has helped me with getting to sleep on time.  As for the rapid heart beat, if it is bothersome, tell your doctor, not everyone can handle amphetamines like Adderall.  Daily exercise dramatically alleviates the symptoms.

That's all normal, but they suggest waiting a month before you know how it'll work for you.  They say that for all drugs!  Perhaps you'll need a sleep aid like Trazodone for sleep, ask about it.
