I am 165lbs and just started talking 10mg of Adderall XR for my ADD. I was wondering how much adderall XR should I be taking vs. my weight. What would be a good dose for me considering my weight?? My doctor said every month he will be increasing it by 10mg but when is a good time to stop increasing?? Thanks for the advice in advance :-)

  1. i take 20mg and i weigh 185, when you notice that its working

  2. take what the doctor prescribes you.

  3. Good time to know when you are at a good dose is when you notice it is working for you, you might not even notice it is working, someone will say to you about how well you are controlling you ADD.  But the doctor is right to increase every time 4 to 6 weeks to make sure the dose is right for you and for you to take notice of how it is making you feel.  Sometimes weight don't always play a factor in it, it is in all how you handle the meds.  One dose for you might not be the same for a person of the same weight as you.  That is why the doctor increases the meds slowly, for the full effect of ADD needs it takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the full effect, even though you should see some results right away.
