Addictive Dream’s glorious chance of galloping away with a hat-trick in the Cape Verdi 20th January at Meydan
The five-year-old Addictive Dream, gelding of Kheleyf out of Nottambula, is being directed towards the Group 2 Cape Verdi which will be held on 20th January at the Meydan. The trainee of David Nicholls, Addictive Dream, has
won both the races that he was tested for in the Dubai World Cup Carnival 2012, till yet.
He struck two victories in the meet, won the first of two on 5th January in the Longines Column Wheel Chronograph (Handicap) against the 5 to 1 favourite for the race, Nocturnal Affair, who came second while third in line behind
the winner was Humidor.
Addictive Dream won the next race, the Etisalat Elife on 12th January where Marco Botti’s entry, Bohemian Melody was the 5 to 2 favourite for the race. The runner up turned out to be Internationaldebut.
Both the times Addictive Dream was ridden by Adrian Nicholls. No other horse, till yet has had such an amazing beginning of the new season at the Carnival. However, there are trainers and jockeys who have won through the carnival more than twice.
Mahmood Al Zarooni, Saeed bin Suroor and M De Kock are the trainers while the jockeys include Frankie Dettori, Mickael Barzalona and Christophe Soumillon.
Addictive Dream ran an overwhelming amount of eleven races in 2011, out of which he could post only one victory. Placed in three and lost the rest, and during that season, Addictive Dream was ridden by ten different jockeys.
Analyzing his performance through the two races that he has won till yet, there is little doubt in the third victory, but he has to keep in mind the threat that De Kock trained, Mahbooba can pose to be.
She has raced once and won the Al Rashidiya Trial convincingly, over at 1 mile and 1 furlong against 9 other runners.
There is quite a high probability that the way Addictive Dream was able to win his second race, Mahbooba might as well grab on the second chance that is presented to her.
The Group 2 Cape Verdi would be one of the most exciting races through the Carnival as it would break and set many records.
