Addidas extend their contract with Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose - NBA Update
It seems that not only Chicago Bulls believe in their star Derrick Rose, but “Addidas” a renowned sportswear firm, has also got the back of the reigning MVP.
According to well placed sources, Rose, who has been the face of the company for over two years now, has signed a whooping $ 250 million, fourteen year extended contract with the firm.
"It's a blessing, man," Rose said after the signing, "Definitely a blessing. They've been with me, they stuck with me from the beginning and I'm happy that I'm a part of them for the rest of my life." "It's great, man. We've been
trying to get it out of the way for a long time. I just remember them bringing it up to me and I couldn't really think about the amount. I'm just blessed and feel grateful right now."
Both Rose and Addidas have had a great relation so far and this new development just proves how much the company is obsessed with the young superstar. Although a player of Rose’s caliber does not need much marketing, however the
company has played an important part in skyrocketing Rose’s fame further.
"They've been doing everything promotional-wise to make sure that they put me out there," he said. "They're marketing me great all over the world. And that's all I need from them."
The deal has made a few necks turn. The deals with such brands are normally in single digit years, but such is the aura of Rose that Addidas signed him for 14 years, which is roughly going to be the period of Rose's career. Oklahoma
City Thunder’s superstar Kevin Durant, who is the brand ambassador of another globally acclaimed company “Nike” added that Rose deserves what he has achieved.
"Fourteen years?" Durant said. "Wow. I wish I could get a 14-year deal. D. Rose deserves everything he's getting. He's an unbelievable leader. So humble. Approaches the game every single day with a focus and plays hard. If you
just looked out on the court and didn't know who he was, you wouldn't think he's the MVP of the league, just how well he blends in with his teammates and how he puts himself always last. He always takes the blame for everything and as a player you like to
see that in the best player on the team. So I'm very, very happy for him. He deserves everything he's getting right now."
Rose is only 22 years old at the moment and has already had one MVP accolade under his name. Despite an injury-plagued season so far, Derrick has continued from where he left season. If he manages to take the Bulls deep into the
playoffs or probably to the championship, he might be making it two MVPs in two years.
