Adding a line??????????

ok so right now we have one phone line for our house and our carrier is verizon but i want to add another line.how much will it cost and how do i do it

almost every residence is prewired for two phone lines.

the telco will connect the unused pair at the NID/demarc to a working pair at the pole. They will connect the second line to the black/yellow pair and you can pull the second line off anywhere by connecting to the black/yellow pair.

costs??  depends on what the telco needs to do, most of the time it is a matter of programing the CO, assigning a pair at the SLC, making sure they have a good pair, and connecting to the residence. Unless something is wrong with the house wire, it is a simple install, about 2 hours.
