I need help adding small touches to the decorations in my bedroom. I don't like candles very much. My room is bright blue, green, pink, and orange. I want decorations that aren't the common decorations you see in every other bedroom. Does anyone have ideas?

Thanks!

  1. They have a lot of bright stuff for bedrooms and a little bit for bathrooms in pb teen!!!

  2. i'm a teenager myself, and i have got this -

it makes my room look very sophisticated and different!

also, get the letters of your name in stencils and paint your name of the wall.

very original, and i do not know anyone personally that has this done!

    hope it helps!

  3. Get crafty.

Piece together plastic canvas in colors that go with your room... (or cover them in fabric) ....Then use cardstock from the scrapbook store to make your own photo frames to hang onto the wall.

Just use two pieces of plastic canvas.  Cut out the middle of one then cover both with the same fabric.  Insert a piece of cardstock to make your own custom funky picture frames.

You can fashion these anyway you wish... the possibilites are endless.  Your friends will want some as soon as they see them.

    Get creative.

You could also decoupage... This simply means you buy some decoupage glue.... put the glue down first... then add the paper you want.... let dry.

Come back later and cover with a couple more coats of the glue.

This gives a very cool look.

If you want to make the item look 'antique'.... simply rub it with a tea bag first.... let dry ...then add the first coat of glue.  Add paper... rub with tea bag all over again.  Then add the next coat of glue.

Find some funky boxes with lids.  Shoe boxes would work fine.  Cover in fabric and stack in a corner as high as you wish.  This is a great storage option and will look pretty too.  If you want to cover them with something that will wipe clean... use wall paper or vinyl that you cut off an old couch ... be a salvager.  Look for free stuff that is being thrown away and make something beautiful out of it.

You could make funky decorative storage boxes ...or purses... out of cigar boxes.  Some crafters sell cigar box purses for hundreds of dollars.

Check out the craft stores... hardware stores (especially the wood working section)... scrapbook stores... and antique malls for ideas.  Don't forget Goodwill or the Salvation Army... Dollar Stores are great too.

  4. colorful vase and nice bright picture and a little colorful rugs and what ever else you like in your room.

  5. My sister found some pretty cool stuff at this place in Dallas called Room Service Home. They're online too. They sell good stuff, it stands up really well. She bought it like four years ago and it is still looking like new!

  6. Love this! Your room sounds intense with color - keep the decorations in a theme you like. What are your hobbies, interests or just something you'd like to have. for example - do you like the beach? Add globe lighting, hang some beach balls for fun. Or maybe it's music? Display your instrument, some music and posters. That kind of thing makes it YOUR room. Good luck. LT

  7. ok i luv all the cute things at PBteen.com u should check it out they have great things for bed rooms

  8. You could get some unique artwork like paintings or sculptures to decorate your room.  You can find all kinds of different decorations online.

  9. I would suggest looking on websites like PBteen, and going to stores like Hobby Lobby. For little accesories, you can find cheap, (like 0.99) vases, votive holders (you don't have to use candle holders for candles), you can get a whole bunch of these and put fake or real flowers, or colored pebbles (from Michael's). You can also get glass jars from Michael's, or any craft store, and fill them up with sand, shells, dried flowers, ect., ect.  Using Scrapbook Paper is also a good idea, you can get paper-mache initial letters at Hobby Lobby or Michael's, and cut up the scrapbook paper into small peices, and cover the letters with it. These are cute if you make a few spelling out a word or your initials with coordinating sheets of scrapbook paper. Hang these on a wall or above your bed and they look great. Also, If you are allowed, painting furniture and stamping it or using sandpaper to rough it up a little can also add charactor to a room. Hope this helps!
