Adding someone to ur insurance?

i know ur insurance goes up but do have to pay the difference between the new and old price? or do u just pay the new price whenever it would normally be time to pay ur insurance?

  2. When you add someone to an insurance policy you will have to pay the premium due on that person from the effective date of the addition. It will depend upon the company, the type of insurance, and your payment schedule as to when the company will want it's money. You're best off contacting them.

  3. I don't know an insurer out there that would let you wait until renewal to pay for extra coverage. Whether it's adding a driver or adding additional coverages, they will bill you for the additions as soon as they've been made.

    For an example......let's say you currently only carried liability coverage on your car. A couple of weeks after you paid your premium you decided you wanted to add full coverage to it. Your insurance company's not going to afford you full coverage for the remainder of your policy period without collecting the additional money. Same principle as adding a driver.
