Adding to a community fish tank?

Hey all, I have 3 full grown peppered corys, and 5 Dwarf Sunset Coral Platys, looking for a blue colored fish that is a bit bigger than the dwarfs, top or middle lvl of the tank.

Or if you can recommend a different color fish aside from the colors I already have, somethin that will stand out against the green of my plants.

I have all live plants, driftwood, Apple/Mystery Snails, and Asolene Spixi snails.

  1. Well I don't know what size your tank is so I can only loosely suggest fish. As far as blue fish that are top dwellers I recommend Dwarf Gouramis but you should only keep 1 to every 10 gallons. Also you could do a Paradise fish or a Betta but remember that you can only keep 1 of these fish per tank. You will also have to closely monitor the tank interactions if you add either of these two fish the aggression level varies from fish to fish.

A fish that is more of a bottom to mid level dweller is a German Blue Rams. These fish are really pretty and peaceful but are quite difficult to keep and require spot on water parameters with a low pH.

Another fish that would look coll but that isn't blue is a Creamsicle Lyretail Mollies. These fish are a bright orange color, and really pop from the green of plants. Here is a picturehttp://members.linkopp.com/biz/workathom... These fish would also compliment the platys you already have.

Also another cool community fish to add that I think would complitment your tank quite well is a neon swordtail http://members.tripod.com/extreme_skier/...

And if you wanted to you could always add some blue platys

Of course what you add will need to depend on you tank size!
