Question:

Adding voltage to my speaker wires to power 4 LEDS?

i have a regular rca jack that supposed to power a speaker but the power come out 2 low for the four LEDs i want to hook up... i wanted to know a cheap way with batteries to help power the LEDs... the only way i know is to turn the volume waaaaaaaaaay up but then it is 2 loud... any ideas? tips? help please

  1. Wire the LEDs in parallel, not series.  

    Are you sure that the speaker outut is an RCA jack?  Try connecting the LEDs to the Tape Out rca jack, it should have a constant 5V.  The problem you may run into is that there won't be enough current.  

    Also, if you use a speaker output to power the LEDs you could end up smoking them because the voltage and current could get too high.
