Adding weather channel alerts to a yahoo group account?

Does anyone know how I can get severe weather alerts to be sent to a yahoo groups account ? I tried to add the sending email ([e-mail]) as a member to my group, but yahoo groups says it's an invalid format and won't accept it.

If you personally receive those alerts via email, within your email program on your computer set up a "Message Rule" to forward those alerts to your group.
