Addington assured Mohammad Amir that he was permitted to play in the Surrey Cricket League Division One – Amir’s lawyer, Gareth Peirce
The disgraced Pakistan pacer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Amir-c76675’s lawyer, Gareth Peirce told the media reporters on Thursday that his client was assured by the Addington management that he can play in the Surrey Cricket League Division One.
"He was given the chance of joining in part of a game with a village cricket team as a way of keeping in practice,” said Peirce while talking to the media reporters. “He was assured by the team that they had asked their league if he was permitted to play
with them and had been told that he was. He did not stay for the whole match," Amir’s lawyer added further.
The 19-year-old has reportedly participated in an official http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Surrey-c851 Cricket League match over the weekend where he took Addignton to a comprehensive 81-run win over St Luke's CC.
Amir’s participation in the league is considered to be a breach of ICC ban which he was served with earlier in February this year. The sensational teenage pacer, along with two other http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salman-Butt-c2418, was
banned from all kind of cricket for five years after the tri was found guilty of contriving some pre-planned no balls in a Test match against England at Lords in August last year.
Peirce said that the teenager has been anxious not to violate his ban since February 5, the day when the disgraced trio was handed bans by a Michael Beloff-led ICC independent tribunal. Amir’s legal counsel said that the British tabloid, Daily Star’s reports
were shocking for the 19-year-old as he was assured that it was a friendly game that has nothing to do with his ICC ban.
ICC spokesman Samiul Hasan, however, has said that the suspension clearly bars the banned players from participating in a cricket match at any recognized level.
"The suspension clearly states that he cannot take part in any cricket-related activities," http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hasan-c61990 told the media reporters. "We are aware of the reports and are investigating the matter."
Amir’s lawyer also revealed that the pacer is making contact directly with ICC through his legal counsels and hoped the issue would be resolved soon.
