The promotion marks an unexpected windfall for the Tigers – prior to the European tour, the Bangladeshi skipper had claimed that his team were eager to just break into the T20I rankings.

the team’s departure. “We have a chance to break into the [rankings] table if we can win matches on this tour.”
To qualify for a position on the table, teams have to have played a minimum of 8 T20s in the past two years since August 1. The original schedule would only have allowed the Tigers to play 7 matches, and the additional T20I against the Netherlands enables
them to fulfil the qualification requirements.
