Address to Basic Training, Fort Sill. Does this look correct? PLEASE HELP ME!?

I havent recieved a letter yet from my husband, but he said he sent one with his address (over a week ago). His phone call was only 15 seconds and to let me know he sent something so I couldnt ask for any information! We just moved and Im afraid it wont come because of the mail forwarding with the post office, it might have got to the old address before the forwarding kicked in!!!

I looked on his ERB (Enlisted record brief). After 95th (Reception) they entered a new address for him.

It said:

F BTRY-BT (1-19FA)TR

Im assuming F BTRY means Foxtrot Battery and the 1-19FA is the Battilion.

I looked on the Fort Sill website and it said this is how you address a soldier:

Rank, Last Name, First Name

Battery Battalion

Unit Street Address (varies by unit) (*)

Fort Sill, OK 73503 + 4 digit (varies)

Then I looked up 1-19FA Foxtrot and it said that address was:

1-19 Foxtrot Battery

BTRY F 1st BN 19th FA

402 NE S. Bdry Rd Unit F

Fort Sill, OK 73503-8016

So I kind of mixed it all together and made this:

PV1, D****, D******

BTRY F 1st BN 19th FA

402 NE S. Bdry Road Unit F

Fort Sill, OK 73503-8015

But I dont have the Platoon Number (1, 2, 3, 4).

DOES THAT ADDRESS LOOK RIGHT? Do you think If I sent the letter to that address he would get it???

THANKS! =)

  1. PV1, D****, D******

    BTRY F 1st BN 19th FA

    402 NE S. Bdry Road Unit F

    Fort Sill, OK 73503-8015

THAT looks good. I was in the same battalion but different battery. C 1-19. It will take him awhile to receive the mail though. Put the platoon because there are 4 different ones.

  2. The address you looked up, did it come from the Ft. Sill website? If so use that. Don't mix everything up. Base delivery is different than that of civilian delivery. Address your letters EXACTLY as you have been told. It really doesn't matter at this point if you do not have a PLT number (Platoon) sometimes the army is slow in handing these out. He'll get the mail. My husband is military, so welcome!! It can be daunting being a new spouse, but there are plenty of people to help you. If you are still not sure go to the Ft. Sill, OK website and call post locator. there number should be on there. Give them hubby's info such as name and SSN, and they will be able to help you!

    Good Luck!!

  3. The way you "mixed it all together" is just the way we were instructed to  address letters to my son at Ft Sill. The first few letters that we sent were not addressed "perfectly"..they still got there just fine.As far as the platoon number-he should let you know soon,it just designates upstairs or downstairs. It will get to him.

  4. i'm not sure that ad res is right.  1/19 used to be in the little building and that address would have been correct,  but now that the building has been remodeled i think it changed.  it would be easier just to wait until you get your news letter or ask him next time he calls

  5. If you want to be absolutly certain you can always contact your husbands recruiter and either he can really make sence of what you have or he can call and get his address for you. I am Navy so I'm not positive how the Army works but I'd be really surprised if Fort Sill did not have a Public Affairs Office specifically for things like this.

  6. That should do just fine.
